Changes to Show Secretary:

1. The online web entry has been moved to HorseSportsWorld.com. This seamless integration provides you with the capability to post your events on the HorseSportsWorld calendar online, advertise your events,  accept online registrations, and download registration data effortlessly.

2. A pull-down menu for owner names has been added to the Entry Information screen. When setting up a new horse, you can use the drop-down to select the owner (if it was previously entered) and it will automatically populate the horse and owner first and last name fields. This will eliminate the possibility of entering duplicates when names are not spelled exactly alike. You will find the drop-down titled "select" to the right of the owner's name in the horse information section.

3. The class master screen now includes a "Novice Only" radio button and the exhibitor screen also includes a Novice selection in the card type. When the Novice Only is selected in the class master, only exhibitors marked as Novice will be allowed in the class. Attempts to include others will be rejected with an informative message.

4. The Youth and Amateur classes as identified on the class master will now reject entries without a matching card type. Previously, this was a warning only and the entry would be accepted.

5. The class master screen now includes fields for minimum and maximum ages for both horse and rider. When classes are entered the program will now validate the entries based on these ages and reject any entries that do not meet the criteria.

6. The showing age will now only be calculated for youth from the start of the year. Amateur and others will be calculated the age from the current day when the birthdate is entered.

7. The class master screen now includes radio buttons which will allow you to mark the gender of the horse. Only those horses having a matching gender (Stallion, Mare, Gelding) will be allowed in the class. To allow all horses into the class mark all genders.

8. The blank card option for placing a class now includes options to both delete an entry from the class or scratch & bill the entry. You will still get a formatted screen based on the #entries being placed but in addition you can add back numbers to the end and select to either remove the entry from the class or scratch/bill using the drop-down selection.

9. There is now a field on the exhibitor screen for the social security number

10. Hot Keys have been assigned to the "Entry Information" screens to speed up the data entry. If you use the mouse and hover over each button it will display a message showing the hot key that is assigned.

11. Placed undo buttons on the Entry Information (Horse, owner and rider). Undo can be used on any screen by pressing CTL/Z  but with a button it's just more obvious. You can press either Alt/U, press the Undo button or press CTL/Z to undo changes. Now that the owner can be changed at the press of a button this became somewhat of an obvious requirement.

12. Changes in the prize money:

  1. Moved the added money from the show setup screen to the Class Master so that it is now class specific and the money can vary by each class.
  2. Added a check box titled "Exhibitor has requested to pay added moneys" to the exhibitor screen. When this box is checked and the exhibitor is entering a class that has added money, the program will now include the amount in the price charged to the exhibitor and will show on his statement. If the box is not checked the price charged to the exhibitor will be the price set as the class fee.
  3. In addition when the box is checked the purse amount for the class will only update the added money if the box is checked.
  4. If a class is deleted and the box is checked, the purse amount will be reduced by the amount of added money.
  5. If a class is set to Scratch/Bill and the box is checked, the amount of the purse will not be adjusted.
  6. Modified the Prize Money report to include the "Added Money" check box from the exhibitor's record

13.  Added A Popup form titled "Scroll List" to the Class Master screen intended to provide quicker access to individual class master records. To access it use the drop-down menu titled Search and select "Scroll List". Then scroll to the desired class and select it. The class master screen will then be filtered to only the selected class allowing you to only edit this class. You can continue selecting other classes from the scroll list or using the other options available on the Search drop-down (however, scroll list is faster). To return to allowing you to browse/Edit all classes simply close the Scroll list or use one of the other options on the search drop-down and you can browse all classes as before while leaving the scroll window open (and off to the side). This list will be a great way of re-numbering your classes for a new show.

Hint: If you select a class record in the list (the select box on the left border turns black with an arrow), you can use you keyboard down arrow key to scroll through the list which will re-position the class master screen to each class as you scroll through the list. This will do validation on each class like making certain there is at least 1 gender selected in the "Restricted To".

14. Added a drop-down menu titled ~Lookup to the Exhibitor Screen. When setting up a new exhibitor for a horse, the exhibitor was previously entered manually for the new horse. Now you can select the exhibitor from the drop-down and the fields will be automatically populated from the existing information.

15. The following fields are now included in the "Copy Classmaster" function:

          SponsorName
          Prize Amount (PayPurse
          Breed Points Multiplied by __
          Show Point Multiplied By __
          Double Points Awarded
          Maximum Points in High Point
          Minimum Horse Age
          Maximum Horse Age
          Minimum Exhibitor Age
          Maximum Exhibitor Age
          Novice Class
          EnforceRelationship
          Allow Stallions
          Allow Geldings
          Allow Mares

16. Added the capability to add new class fees from the Class Master screen. The screen now shows 2 fields (1) Price Code (2) Class Price. To add a new class price add a new price code from the price code drop-down menu. When a new code is added you will be prompted for the class price.

17. The "Blank Card" option for entering scores was modified to better allow for ties and DQ'S. To enter scores for timed classes such as reining check the box titled "This class includes scores ...". I removed the place # as now the program will sort the entries (ascending sequence) and assigned the place number based on the scores you enter. If the entry is DQ'd then enter a 0 as the score. If there is a tie, then both entries will receive the same number of points.

18. Added "Eligibility Report" to determine if high point winners have met eligibility requirements for all-around or potentially other high points. A category table has been added which includes each of the different categories. This table is user-modifiable and can be found on the "Show Setup" screen. The category is assigned to each class on the Class Master screen. The Eligibility Report is produced from the High Point screen by selected it from the drop-down menu titled "Reports". Select either preview or print before you press the "Go" button. The report is produced by Show # and produces separate   reports for open, youth and amateur.

19. Fixed the placing screen "Blank Card" option so that the scratch/bill or remove could be entered on a line containing a place number. I had designed it so the entries to be deleted or scratch/bill would be put at the end since they obviously had not placed. However, now it will work both ways.

20. Added the ability to have the program determine if the flat fee applies when a class is entered. There is now a flat fee setup screen where you can identify the total flat fee for each different class type, i.e. youth, amateur, Open. When a class is entered the program will calculate the Total classes entered * class price. If the result is greater or equal to the amount in the flat fee table the class price will be set to 0 otherwise the class will be charged normal price.

21. You can now setup a class to add additional fees for any exhibitors entering a particular class. One example that comes to mind will be your cattle classes. Just add the cattle fee as an additional fee and the charges will be automatically made to anyone who enters the class.
