Upgrade to Current Version of Show Secretary XP

 

Note: This is the current version of Show Secretary XP. If you have not purchased the XP version of Show Secretary then do not download this update because it will not work for you. Select the link for upgrading Show Secretary 98 if you are trying to update Show Secretary 98 version.

Step #1 - Other required modules for Show Secretary

 If you are having problems such as  getting strange error messages or Show Secretary running differently on different computers, you should download and install these additional modules which are required for Show Secretary to operate correctly.

Press the following link to download:  required modules 

Note: You may receive a message such as: Can’t create output file: c:\Windows\System32\msxml3.dll

Normally, this will be OK as it means the file is installed on your computer but is in use (most likely Windows itself).

After you've saved the file on your computer,  press "Run" and then press the "Unzip" button to install these modules. After you've installed these modules you will need to "Register" them to tell your computer where they are located:

  1. Press the Windows Start Button
  2. Select Run
  3. Paste the following command in the open box:   C:\Windows\System32\RegisterShowSec.bat
  4. Press OK

Step #2 - Show Secretary XP program file

Important Note: When installing a new version you should also run step #3 (download & Install User Registration File).

Download the current version of Show Secretary XP:   Press here to start the download   or use the multi-part download below if you are using a dial-up modem and experiencing problems downloading the upgrade file.

  • Multi-Part Download  ShowSecXP (Contains 4 separate parts) Current Version: 6.82 - Revision Date: 9/23/2007
  • Use this procedure if you are unable to download the complete file and are getting corrupted download files.

Note: Press the Unzip button (after download is complete) to complete the installation. The new program will be installed to C:\Program Files\Show Secretary

Step #3 - User Registration File

     Press here to update your Registration File (Required when updating your subscription payment).

Step #5 - Create shortcut on your desktop

    Create a shortcut to Show Secretary for version 5 on your desktop. Run this if you need to create a shortcut for Show Secretary.

Step #6 - Information

 When you start Show Secretary after you have installed the new version, the Database Selection form will be empty. This is normal and you will need to press the Add Database button to update and install your databases.

(7) Next select your database and proceed to Show Setup
